BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Clean up work continued in Assumption Parish after multiple tornadoes touched down there during Monday's powerful storms.

People can take their storm debris to Ezekiel Street Thursday so the parish can get rid of it. That site will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the weekend to collect storm debris.

Officials report there are still widespread power outages and that Entergy crews are working hard to get the lights back on.

"Knowing that it does take time for the government agencies to go around and pick it up, and we are doing that, they like to do it themselves," said John Boudreaux, Director of Assumption OHSEP. "They have the resources, trucks and trailers and so forth, where they can come in and actually do it themselves, and clean their yards now."

Napoleonville Primary School will remain closed on Thursday. All other Assumption Parish public schools will be open.
