The Gonzales Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying and finding the driver involved in a hit and run accident.

Police say the accident happened at approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of the Walmart in Gonzales.

Parking lot surveillance video shows a gray Dodge Challenger veering from the main travel lane in the parking lot, hitting another Dodge Challenger and speeding out of the parking lot.

The suspect's vehicle was not displaying a license plate or a temporary tag.

Witnesses describe the driver as a white male with a dark colored beard and wearing a white baseball cap.

The vehicle should have damage to the driver's side front bumper and quarter panel.

If you have any information about the identity of the driver or the whereabouts of the vehicle, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 225-387-7867 or the Gonzales Police Department at 225-647-9572.
