Baton Rouge man arrested for possessing, selling counterfeit merchandise

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A Baton Rouge man was arrested after and undercover operation revealed that he was selling counterfeit merchandise.

Investigators arrested 43-year-old Aliou Ndiaye after he sold a counterfeit men's Louis Vuitton wallet to an undercover agent for $20 inside of the DBA Deep South Flee Market.

Further investigation into Ndiaye's business revealed that he was in possession of over $180,000 worth of counterfeit merchandise such as handbags, wallets, belts, caps and other items.

Ndiaye was arrested and charged with illegal use of counterfeit trademark and was issued a warning letter and a cease and desist order.

He was later released on a $15,000 bond.
