LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

People in Livingston Parish are cleaning up after the storm that moved through Monday morning.

The storm hit hard south of Denham Springs, causing downed trees and power lines.

A tree fell onto a home off 4-H Club Road. The home owners said that they were in the bedrooms in the back sleeping when they heard the wind and the storms. The wind snapped a big tree that fell on the power lines and then the house. No one was reported injured.

Livingston Parish President Layton Ricks surveyed the damage throughout the parish.

"We had a lot of trees, a lot of small debris all over the roads," said Ricks. "DOTD has responded real well to the trees that have been across the state highways and roads. Local DPW has been out, as well as the municipalities, cleaning those off almost as soon as they fell. So we've been real fortunate."

Officials in Livingston Parish say DOTD crews quickly responded to reports of trees and debris across the roads.

More than half of the 17 people killed when a tourist boat sank on a Branson lake were members of the same Indiana family, and they likely wouldn't have been on the ill-fated trip but for a ticket mix-up.
