BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A resource is available for parents who want to help their kids excel in school.
The Livingston Parish Public School System plays host to a Family Resource Center that loans educational games and materials that are designed to help children learn at home. The cost of a rental from the center? Absolutely nothing.
"Learning starts at home. If you don't have the parents on board, it's really hard to continue education," says family educator Jennifer Rabalais. "We want parents to feel that they are a priority and that they can do this. We need their help."
The center also holds parent workshops a few times a month on topics like common core math and cyber safety.
