BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Volunteers are still needed for this year's "Fix Up Mid City" service project happening Saturday.
For nearly 20 years, the Mid City Redevelopment Alliance has organized a day of service to try to beautify and revitalize the Mid City area of Baton Rouge.
Volunteers will work to transform an old property on North Acadian into a community center.
Organizers said bringing business to Mid City is great, but restoring the residential needs is just as important.
"You have to work in the neighborhood, help those less fortunate," said Samuel Sanders, executive director for Mid City Redevelopment Alliance. "That's what we've always done."
