ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office say two suspects were arrested and one is wanted for using counterfeit $10 bills at stores and fast food restaurants in Ascension Parish.
Officials say two suspects were identified from a surveillance video from one of the stores. Detectives then received a crime stoppers tip that led them to William Bridges and Kristen Dufrene; the two suspects in the surveillance video.
As the investigation continued, detectives learned that the vehicle Bridges and Dufrene were seen driving belongs to Bridges' older brother Randal, who was also identified through a crime stoppers tip and surveillance video.
Randal Bridges was arrested by Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office on April 18 for unrelated incidents, however APSO detectives interviewed Randal where he admitted to using counterfeit $10 bills to make purchases at several different stores, resulting in a total of 14 counterfeit bills passed at six different stores in Ascension Parish.
Randal Bridges, 27, of St. Amant is currently in custody in Livingston Parish Jail but is pending charges with the APSO. He will be charged with 14 counts of monetary instrument abuse and theft.
William Bridges, 25, of St. Amant was arrested and charged with five counts of monetary instrument abuse and theft. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
According to Lt. Col. Webre, detectives are currently searching for Kristen Dufrene, 24, of Springfield who is wanted for five counts monetary instrument abuse and theft.
