BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - East Baton Rouge Deputies gathered to honor victims of deadly crimes Wednesday.
The 9th annual Evening of Remembrance is dedicated to the family and loved ones of the victims.
Every year, the Sheriff's Office gathers to remember victims of homicide, but this year there was a special moment for Terrez Coleman, who was taken far too young by a senseless act of violence.
The sheriff says it's important for the family members to know they are not alone.
"It's just a time to show them that we support them, that we share in their plight and share in their sorrow, and do everything we can to let them know that their loved ones are not forgotten," said Sheriff Gautreaux
The ceremony was part of National Crime Victims' Rights Week.
