BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Two men have been arrested and charged with attempted murder and principal to attempted murder after being accused of firing shots at a vehicle with three children and a woman inside.
Officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department were called to the 4900 block of Scenic Highway on March 7, 2015 around 2 a.m. after shots were fired at the vehicle.
Police say a woman was driving a rental car on Scenic Highway with her three young children, ages 4, 8, and 9. She noticed a gray Dodge Charger in the outside lane. The woman told police the driver of the Charger was driving suspicious, so she decided to go around the car and make a U-turn. As she did this, the suspect vehicle began following her.
The suspect vehicle pulled up next to her and she noticed the front passenger window was down. The passenger of the vehicle, now identified as 21-year-old Travis Bell, pointed a handgun at her. The victim immediately sped up to get away. Both vehicles were traveling at a high rate of speed.
The driver of the Charger, 31-year-old Eddie Isadore, positioned the vehicle to allow Bell to shoot at the victim's vehicle multiple times, according to the warrant.
Police say the victim's vehicle was struck by several bullets causing damage, and the rear tire was shot, causing the victim to lose control of her vehicle and strike a pole.
Because the crash caught the attention of police and security in the area, Bell and Isadore drove off.
The victim and her three children were not injured in the incident.
Both Bell and Isadore were arrested Tuesday, April 21.
Bell was charged with four counts of attempted second degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, and aggravated criminal damage to property. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a $415,000 bond.
Isadore was charged with four counts of principal to attempted second degree murder. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a $300,000 bond.
