Blakeney officially signs with LSU

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Antonio Blakeney has officially signed to play basketball for the LSU Tigers.

Blakeney, a 6'4" shooting guard from Oak Ridge, Florida, originally committed to powerhouse Louisville during the summer. He de-committed in mid-September.

LSU beat out Kentucky for the services of the player ranked nationally in the top 20 by three of the major recruiting polls.

He averaged just under 30 points per game this season and said LSU may be known as a football school, but Johnny Jones and his staff are looking to change the culture.

He was named Florida's Class 8A Player of the Year and was voted the state's Mr. Basketball.

Blakeney joins National Player of the Year Ben Simmons and Madison Prep's Brandon Sampson, as well as Arizona transfer and New Orleans native Craig Victor.

The Tigers finished with 247Sports' No. 2 ranked 2015 recruiting class, right behind the Duke Blue Devils.
