BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police arrested six people, after a search of an Uncas Street home found 13 pit bulls from a suspected dog fighting ring.
During a patrol on April 20 at about 7:30 p.m., police officers investigating possible drug related activity outside of the Uncas Street residence noticed a suspect running inside of the house. During the pursuit, they saw 35-year-old Elton Kelly and 33-year-old Tyrone Dyer attempt to flush what was suspected to be marijuana down the toilet.
Baton Rouge Police say that suspects Malcom Floyd, Michael Carter, Paulette Alford, and Kendrick Carter were all found at the residence with 14 grams of crack cocaine. These suspects were arrested and charged with possession of Crack Cocaine with intent to distribute.
Officers noted that 13 pit bulls at the residence had facial and body scarring consistent with dog fighting. Police also found hypodermic needles and injectable dog medicines at the residence.
Kelly and Dyer were charged on possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule 2 drug, and dog fighting charges.
