This Thursday on WAFB 9News at 10:00 p.m. we're presenting an update on the health of Paul Gates.
As most of you know, Paul was a beloved member of our news team and an outstanding investigative reporter and news anchor. He retired from WAFB because he has Alzheimer's disease. We want to thank Paul and his family for their willingness to share information about his condition.
The report this Thursday will give us the chance to answer the question that people who work at WAFB get asked most frequently – "How's Paul?" It also gives us the chance to provide you with some new information regarding this terrible disease. Primary research on Alzheimer's is being done right here in Baton Rouge at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. The director of that project describes the coming increase in the number of Alzheimer's cases as a "transformative" issue for our society.
We know Alzheimer's has already been transformative for many Louisiana families including Paul's. We hope you'll join us for this coverage beginning on Thursday.
That's "Our Turn." Now, it's your turn. Comment on this segment below or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
