BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - One of the biggest stories going into Saturday's LSU Football Spring Game was the quarterback duel between Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris.
All of LSU's quarterbacks put up impressive numbers. Jennings was 13-for-20 for 242 yards and two touchdowns, while Harris posted an 11-of-17 game to the tune of 178 yards and two Touchdowns. True freshman quarterback Justin McMillian gave threw three out of three for 55 yards.
Anthony Jennings says that the competition makes both quarterbacks better. "We're just trying to better each other. It's about bringing yourself up and making your teammates better."
Brandon Harris says that he's more confident in his abilities this year. Harris says that he feels like the quarterbacks were the weak link of the Tigers last year. "It's not really nice when people talk about our quarterback situation and we're not doing really well. With that chip on my shoulder, I just want to show how much I've improved."
Les Miles says that both quarterbacks did well, but that he would defer other questions about the quarterbacks from the media.
