BATON ROUGE, LA (AP) - Baton Rouge police have arrested a man after they say he forced his way into a woman's home and beat up her and her daughter.
Police say just before 5 p.m. the victim arrived at her home to find that her home had been broken into. That is when 37-year-old Charles Videau entered the home and began to punch the victim in the face. The victim's daughter attempted to intervene when Videau began to punch her in the face also.
The mother says during that time she was able to get to a phone and call police. When police arrived, Videau had already left the scene.
Police later arrested Videau and was positively identified by the victim. She later explained that she and Videau once lived together for eight months.
Videau was taken to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with one count of domestic abuse battery, one count of simple assault and one count of cruelty to a juvenile.
