BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Authorities said a man wanted in connection with a home break-in turned himself in after seeing his picture on television.
Greater Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers reported Marques Wright, 30, a repeat offender with a long list of convictions, surrendered to Baton Rouge police Tuesday. No bond was set.
"Marques told officers he was turning himself in after seeing his photograph on WAFB," the written release stated.
Wright is listed in the Repeat Offender Prosecution and Enhancement (ROPES) program because he's been arrested or convicted of multiple felonies.
Deputies said he's accused of breaking into a house earlier this year. They added he's also wanted for failure to appear in court on a simple robbery charge.
Officials stated in order to be in the ROPES program, a person must have six arrests for felony crimes or at least two felony convictions in their criminal history.
