BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge woman was arrested Sunday after she refused to let her daughter in the house.
Police say just before 7 p.m. on Sunday a man called to say that the father of a 9-year-old girl asked if he could watch her until he could contact her mother, 31-year-old Carla Sims.
The man says that he brought the girl to Sims' home. About 10 minutes later, Sims brought her daughter back to his house and said that she was not going to take her because her father was supposed to keep her until Monday morning and she was not going to allow him to break the custody agreement.
The man then returned to Sims' home where she refused to take the girl despite him threatening to have her arrested for child desertion.
Sims' was later arrested by Baton Rouge Police and taken to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where she was charged with child desertion and cruelty to a juvenile.
Sims' children were taken into custody by the Department of Children and Family Services.
