Napoleonville residents sound off after child molestation arrest

NAPOLEONVILLE, LA (WAFB) - Residents from Napoleonville are furious after learning about a recent child molestation arrest.

"It's devastating, it's very aggravating and justice should be served," says Stella Davis. "These are innocent children. And if you're like that's the one they need to lock up to keep off the street. Because once they molest a child or hurt they will kill her."

Deputies say that 46-year-old Samuel Gonzales is facing child molestation charges for allegedly abusing three children in Assumption Parish.

Deputy Robert Martin with the APSO says that the department launched an investigation after one victim came forward and claimed that they were molested between for nearly a decade, between 1999 and 2008.

"You see incidents where people repress it for whatever reason," says Martin, "It's a traumatic event so its years that they come to grips with it."

Authorities say that the investigation is not over. Gonzales was booked into the assumption parish jail, his bond is set at 300-thousand dollars.
