BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge General held an exhibit to demonstrate how diabetes, obesity, and lack of exercise can affect the heart.
The hospital showed off a 13-foot tall walk-in heart that shows how the heart works.
Medical Presenter Justin Reiswerg says that the big, inflatable heart helps to show exactly what's happening inside everyone's chest. "It used to be basically wear a t-shirt with a picture of a heart and that was your heart health fair," says Reiswerg "Now, walk inside, get a much better image of how blood changes directions and how different chambers are shaped."
In addition to having doctors on hand for people to talk with, there were also exercise and cooking demonstrations to promote healthy living habits.
