BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Two new trees will start to take root after being planted at a Baton Rouge school Thursday.
Baton Rouge Green donated two Southern Magnolias to the Gardere Community Christian School. The group helped supervised the planting of the trees with students and volunteers from a local bible study group.
"These trees are going to do so much more for our kids," said Julia Kebanli with the Gardere Community Christian School. "They won't just be shade, a habitat for animals and wildlife, or to beautify the school, but to give them something to care for. Something they can nurture and that they can see grow and take ownership in."
Baton Rouge Green will help anyone who wants to donate trees. Next week, BR Green will help plant citrus trees in a Scotlandville neighborhood park.
