BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Officials with the Baton Rouge Blues Festival said the event will be held at the Baton Rouge River Center due to rain expected Saturday.
All festival programming is being relocated to the Baton Rouge River Center exhibition hall, galleria and ballroom areas.
"It's unfortunate we have to take the festival indoors," said festival chairman Chris Brooks, "but we're ultimately under the control of the weather Gods. The Blues Festival's number one priority is the safety of everyone involved. We'd especially like to thank Mayor 'Kip' Holden for contributing additional resources to relocate the event on such short notice. We're excited to be working with the River Center and assure that ALL of the festival programming scheduled will take place on Saturday! I hope everyone can make it out for this one-of-a-kind experience."
The Foundation Stage and Swamp Blues Stage will be located in the River Center Exhibition Hall. Because they are so close to each other, performances will be staggered throughout the day.
The Soul of BR Stage will be in the ballroom located near the St. Louis Street entry. The Back Porch, which is the newest of the festival's four stages, will be located off the galleria area.
Performance times for the Soul of BR Stage and The Back Porch will continue as previously scheduled.
