BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team posted a season-high 18 hits and got a strong start from junior right-hander Eric Carter as the squad notched its third straight win defeating Southern 14-1 in eight innings at Lee-Hines Field.
"The big is that we were able to come from an emotional win to a game with no one in the bleachers and kept our focus," head coach Tony Robichaux said. "The guys did a great job. Eric came out and set a good tempo for us and pounded the zone. Everyone played well and the guys off of the bench came in and did a good job and we had a complete team effort tonight."
Stefan Trosclair, Tyler Girouard and Greg Davis each had three hits as Louisiana (18-13) had eight extra base hits in the game. Trosclair also drove in three runs and had a double and home run, while Evan Powell had three RBI on a pair of hits including a home run.
