GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -

A Gonzales man was arrested Saturday after being accused of pistol whipping a woman, threatening to shoot her, then hiding from police in a barber shop bathroom.

Police were called to a home in Gonzales. Police reports say 23-year-old Christopher Hendricks went to the home looking for a woman. When he found the woman was not home, court documents say he became irate and tore up item inside the home.

Hendricks was at the house when the woman arrived. She tried to get Hendricks to calm down, according to police, but while doing so, Hendricks hit her on the left side of her head with a pistol and threatened to shoot her.

Police found Hendricks hiding in the bathroom of Holmes Barber Shop.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
