BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - ?
After years of attending Port Hudson National Cemetery, one woman has made it her mission to make sure every grave is attended to with love.
Tiffany O'Connor said she got the idea after noticing several unmarked graves at the rear of the cemetery.
"Nobody visits them, nobody knows who they are and I thought it would be a great way to give back," said O'Connor.
She places a single flower on each grave site. Saturday she had over 200 carnations, but not enough hands. She hopes others will join her in paying respect to those who paid the ultimate price.
"This symbolizes our freedom," explained O'Conner.
O'Conner's boyfriend died six years ago while serving the country. She said she will be at the cemetery every Saturday.
