BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Community leaders are hoping that people will pitch in and help with the effort to restore one of Scotlandville's oldest buildings.

The building that now houses Kutt'n Korners barbershop has been around for over 40 years. It has several holes in the roof, and paint is coming off the walls.

Now, customer Rico Williams is asking the public to donate materials to help give it a new look. He said it's an extension of the Southern Community.

"We want people to feel comfortable when they come here and see our buildings are done properly instead of broken down and boarded up," said Williams. "So we need to start fixing them up to get that look and to get that attention."

People can drop off donations next Saturday, April 10 at the barbershop on 8421 Scenic Highway

Materials include:

Paint (Columbia blue, white and gold)
Brushes
Plywood
Shingles (Roofing Material)
