Livingston Parish Sheriff investigates shooting in Walker

WALKER, LA (WAFB) - A woman has been arrested for attempted murder after shooting a man in the leg Friday morning, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office.

Around 11 a.m. on April 3, 2015, deputies were dispatched to the 26000 of  Walker South Rd in reference to a shooting.

During the investigation, deputies learned a woman shot a man at the house.

"The male was shot in the leg. He is being treated at a local hospital. That female is currently in our custody," said Sheriff Jason Ard.

The woman has been identified as 28-year-old Jamie Henson of Walker. She was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on an attempted 2nd degree murder charge.

LPSO said the victim was in stable condition Friday night.

A motive behind the shooting has not been released, but the investigation is ongoing.
