BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Traffic in the Capitol area is beginning to get impacted by the start of the holiday weekend. Below are updates from DOTD:

8:05 PM – Congestion has cleared on I-10 East from Grosse Tete (Exit 139) to Washington Street.

7:02 PM – Congestion on I-10 East is now seven miles before LA-415 (Lobdell) to the Mississippi River Bridge, due to holiday travel.

5:40 PM – Congestion on I-10 East is now between Grosse Tete (Exit 139) and Washington Street, due to holiday travel.

4:26 PM – All lanes are open on I-10 East at Dalrymple Drive. The queue from this incident has reached past LA-415 on I-10 and before North 22nd Street on I-110. 

4:16 PM - The left and center lanes are blocked I-10 East at Dalrymple Drive, due to an accident. Traffic is passing through the right lane.  

4:06 PM – Congestion on I-10 East is now eight miles before LA-415 (Lobdell) to Perkins Road, due to holiday travel.

2:57 PM – Congestion on I-10 East is now from four miles before LA-415 (Lobdell) to Perkins Road (Baton Rouge), due to holiday travel.
