(UNDATED) - National player of the year Ben Simmons scored seven points to go with 10 rebounds and three assists, while future LSU teammate Antonio Blakeney scored 14 points, including two big baskets during an 8-0 second half run to lead the East to a 111-91 win over the West in the 2015 McDonald's All-American game.
Simmons and Blakeney also scored six quick points to get their team back in the game after the West had jumped out to an early 11-4 advantage.
"I don't want to do the same thing everybody else is doing," Blakeney told a national TV audience on ESPN on why he chose LSU. "I'm different. I'm a trendsetter. I want to start a tradition."
Cheick Diallo scored 18 points and was named the game's MVP. The Mali native is still considering several colleges, including Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Pittsburgh and St. John's.
