PRAIRIEVILLE, LA (WAFB) - Two men are behind bars and investigators are looking for a third after a shooting, believed to be related to a car crash that occurred months ago, left three people injured Monday night.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office reported the shooting happened near Prairieville just before 11 p.m. It was in the area of Josh Brown Road and Leona Carter Road, which is in the Bishop Woods neighborhood.
Emery Young Jr., 20, and Deangelo Kinchen, 18, also of Gonzales, are charged with eight counts of attempted first-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon. Deputies are working to identify a third suspect.
Deputies said one man was shot in the neck. He was taken to the hospital, treated and released. The other two men remain hospitalized. The second man was shot in the elbow. He was last listed in stable condition. The third man was hit in the buttocks, knee and hand. He was also last listed in stable condition.
According to investigators, eight people in a Chevy Suburban got into an argument with the suspects related to a car accident that happened about six months ago and shots were fired at the vehicle.
The shooting remains under investigation and more charges may be pending.
