BRCC to host sixth annual Career Day

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The sixth annual Career Day, hosted by Baton Rouge Community College, will give current and future job seekers a peek into the Baton Rouge job market.

The event will take place Tuesday, April 14 at the Bonne Sante Wellness Center, 201 Community Drive.

The morning session from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. will include a Job Expo and Transfer Fair, while the 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. afternoon session will feature the Nursing, Allied Health, and the Industrial and Skilled Crafts Expo.

Job Expo attendees will see representatives from companies like JP Morgan, Frito Lay, Chase Bank, and Enterprise Rent a Car. The Transfer Fair will include recruiters from colleges and industrial companies from around the state rounding out the Industrial and Skilled Crafts Expo.

The director of BRCC's Career Center, Lisa Hibner, says that students should take advantage of the opportunity that Career Day provides. "In today's world of online job applications and internet based job search engines, meeting face-to-face with hiring managers is an incredible way to jump start the job search process."

The BRCC suggests that those interested in attending the event should dress in business casual or professional attire. Bringing copies of your resume is also strongly recommended.
