BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The goal of a new restaurant set to open in the Mid-City area in a couple months is to bring some new flavor to the Capital City.

The owner of Pit-N-Peel tells us the restaurant will be offering authentic Louisiana taste with its barbeque and seafood dishes.

The Pit-N-Peel will fill a building at the corner of Government Street and 21st Street that has been vacant for quite a while. In fact, the location is what the owner, Elvondae Raybon, is hoping will set it apart from the competition.

"We're the first restaurant on Government here in the Garden District area. I'm hoping that we get that new concept that this area is creating with the walk-up and bike-up type business," said Raybon

The restaurant, which is located at 2010 Government Street, will open in May after renovations are complete.

Raybon says the restaurant will offer seating for up to 50 people inside with an additional 15 to 20 seats outside.

A few visitors learned to never turn their back on a tiger. Fortunately, this tiger was in an enclosed space.
