Police hope that new technology find missing persons faster

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The Central Fire Department is debuting a new program that helps first responders find lost persons more quickly.

The program, called Project Lifesaver, uses new technology to help track missing people.

The department uses transmitters to find kids and adults with conditions like Autism and Alzheimer's.

The transmitters should drastically reduce the amount of time it firefighters to find a missing person, when minutes matter the most.

Project Lifesaver representatives say that the new technology can help find am missing person in under 30 minutes, instead of days or weeks.
