LAFAYETTE, LA (WAFB) - Police said a man suspected of a shooting in Baton Rouge on Friday that left a woman dead and a man badly wounded was arrested in Lafayette.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Quintin Thomas, 26, of Baton Rouge, was arrested Monday by the Lafayette Police Department and booked into the Lafayette Parish Detention Center. Thomas was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, and illegal use of a weapon.
He is charged in the shooting death of Idalis Smith, 18.
Thomas' live-in girlfriend, Victoria Guillory, 23, was arrested Monday by Baton Rouge police. She faces a charge of accessory after the fact - first-degree murder. Investigators believe she helped to hide and get him out of the city.
Detectives said Smith was found shot to death in her home on North 30th Street at Bogan Walk Street around 1 p.m. They added a 34-year-old man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown. His name was not released.
Authorities have not stated a possible motive for the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing.
