LSU signee Ben Simmons receives another postseason award

Montverde, FL (WAFB) - LSU basketball signee Ben Simmons has been named the 2015 Gatorade Player of the Year. 

Simmons averaged 28 points and 11.9 rebounds this season for Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida. 

The nation's No. 1 recruit registered 24 double-doubles on the season all while maintaining a 3.48 in the classroom. 

Earlier this year Simmons was named the Naismith Trophy Boy's High School Player of the Year. 

He has also won the Morgan Wootten Award as the top McDonald's All-American in the country and is scheduled to play in the McDonald's game April 1st in Chicago.
