The sixth annual Zapps Baton Rouge Beerfest gives local brewers special opportunities

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Rain couldn't dampen the mood of the many who attended the sixth International Beer Fest in Baton Rouge.

Over 200 different beers were available for sampling, and brewers hopped at the opportunity to impress people who normally wouldn't try their product.

"A festival like this does so much for a local brewery," said one local brewer, "It gives everyone an opportunity to sample our product, find out who we are and what we're about, and then hopefully after taking a sample of our beer today, they're going to go out and seek us out in a bar."

The proceeds of the Saturday event went to the Friends of the Rural Life Museum.
