No. 1 LSU softball dispatches No. 6 OU at Tiger Park

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

No. 1 LSU softball took down No. 6 Oklahoma in a 10-2 eight-run rule in the sixth inning at Tiger Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Tigers improved to 30-1 with the win.

After walks to AJ Andrews and Bailey Landry, Bianka Bell got LSU to an early lead with a three-run home run in the first inning.

Oklahoma quickly responded in the second inning via Tori Nirschi's solo home run to left field to bring the Sooners within two.

In the bottom third, Kellsi Kloss helped LSU extend its lead to 4-1 with her fifth home run of the season.

Bianka Belle and Sahvanna Jaquish hit back-to-back home runs in the fifth to pull the game to a 6-2 lead.

Andrews, Landry and Jaquish each put an RBI on the board in the sixth to put the finishing touches on a 10-2 LSU victory.

The pitching victory went to Walljasper, who improved to an undefeated 9-0. OU's Stevens suffered the loss, dropping to 7-1.

LSU's next game is Tuesday against South Alabama at 6 p.m. at Tiger Park
