NAPOLEONVILLE, LA (WAFB) - Deputies with the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office are investigating a shooting that left two horses dead. The sheriff's office and the Louisiana Department of Agriculture are combining efforts and offering a $1,500 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
The shooting happened around 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the 100 block of Pecan Street in Napoleonville, LA.
Deputies arrived and found one of the horses was dead and had multiple gunshot wounds. The other horse was still alive, but had to be put down because of multiple gunshot wounds.
A reward may be offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) involved.
Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity between Noon and 3 p.m. on Pecan Street in Napoleonville is asked to call the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office at 985-526-1627.
Officials say they do not believe this case is related to the cows being shot in Napoleonville.
