BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The truck that was stolen from a business, shortly after a car crashed during a police chase, has been found.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported a truck taken from Industrial Screw and Supply on Wednesday was located Thursday morning. It was found on Odell Street at North 43rd Street around 9 a.m.

Calvin Bethley, 59, is accused of driving off in the company truck. He is wanted for theft in Iberville Parish and Maj. Ronnie Hebert with the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office said Bethley saw deputies in Baton Rouge on Wednesday and sped off.

Investigators said he eventually slammed into a telephone pole and fire hydrant on Choctaw Drive. He then allegedly walked to the business and took the work truck.

Detectives said the car Bethley was driving had been rented by one of his family members. In addition to the initial theft charge, he will face hit and run and auto theft charges when he is caught.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
