BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU and state leaders met with students to discuss the possible cuts coming to the university and higher education across the state.
President F. King Alexander was among the people at the meeting inside the Manship School of Journalism Wednesday night.
Students were asked to submit questions about the proposed cuts, brainstorming what to ask school officials before the meeting. They voiced their concerns about the potential state budget cuts that could cut 40% of the school's budget.
One student said this was how they made their voices matter. Students want officials to realize they have a say in what happens with higher education.
Lawmakers will vote on the budget this legislative session.
