Lady Jaguars join Southern men in SWAC finals

HOUSTON, TX (WAFB) - Jadea Brundidge scored a career-high 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Southern Lady Jaguars into the SWAC Championship game against Alabama State on Saturday with a 64-40 semifinal thrashing of Prairie View in Houston, Texas.

Jasmine Jefferson returned from her one game suspension on Wednesday to add 16 points, as the Lady Jags rolled out to a 35-18 halftime lead and were never threatened in the final 20 minutes.

Southern made an impressive 51% of its field goal attempts for the game (27-53), while holding the Lady Panthers to just 13 baskets on the same number of attempts, shooting just 24%.

Saturday's title game tips off at 2:00 pm in the Toyota Center and will be available on an ESPN3 video feed before the SU men play on ESPNU at 5:30.
