Police search for suspect wanted in N. 16th St. shooting

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police are looking for a man wanted for attempted murder and hope the public can help to find him.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Maurice Lewis, 32, will face charges of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and illegal carrying of a weapon by person convicted of certain felonies.

Investigators said Lewis shot a man in the stomach on North 16th Street on February 3. They added it happened a few hours after the two men had gotten into an argument at a business on Scenic Highway.

According to reports, the victim was shot as he was getting out of a car. The victim is recovering from his wounds.

Lewis is described as 5'7" and 165 pounds.
