Police: Fake UPS man wanted for attempted murder in Baker shooting

BAKER, LA (WAFB) - A man posing as a UPS delivery person is wanted for attempted murder and attempted armed robbery after a victim was shot twice Thursday morning in the 4500 block of Harding Street in Baker, La.

Just before 9:30 a.m., the victim called 911 saying someone knocked on his door and identified themselves as working for UPS. When the victim opened the door, he saw a black man with a grey hoodie on, pointing a pistil in his face and demanding money.

The victim said he immediately slammed the door and that is when the suspect fired three shots through the door. The victim was shot two times.

Police say the suspect left the scene on foot. The victim was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Nebora Langely, who lives feet away, said violence is something unusual for that area.
