BROUSSARD, LA (WAFB) - A total of four people have been arrested in connection to a Broussard homicide that left a Lafayette man dead in late January.
On Wednesday, January 28, at approximately 10 p.m., Deputies with the Lafayette Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance in the 400 Block of Bayou Tortue Rd.
Deputies learned there was a disturbance between two groups of people, and during the incident, a gun was fired.
Officials say 25-year-old Silas Tate was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies say Steven Trahan, Sr., and his sons Steven Trahan, Jr., and Dillon Trahan, were arrested and charged with accessory after the fact for second degree murder for making false statements to investigators about the shooting.
Dillon Trahan was re-booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on Friday for second degree murder. His father, Steven Trahan, Sr. was rebooked and charged with aggravated assault.
A fourth person, Courtney Weeks, was arrested Friday and charged with accessory after the fact to second degree murder.
