At about 3:45 a.m. Thursday morning, Thibodaux Police Officers patrolling the areas of Government Circle and Cedar Street smelled marijuana coming from a car in the area. According to police reports, Demondrea Westley, 22, was found inside the vehicle with his girlfriend.

During the investigation, officers learned that Westley recently smoked marijuana. Upon searching the car, officers found individually wrapped baggies of marijuana along with Xanax and drug paraphernalia.

Westley was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of Xanax, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Violation of a Drug Free Zone.

He is currently being held on an $18,000 bond.
