Freeze warning issued for viewing area

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for most of the WAFB viewing area that goes into effect at 9 p.m. Thursday until 9 a.m. Friday.

The warning is for the following parishes and counties: East and West Baton Rouge, Ascension, Livingston, Assumption, Iberville, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany, southern Tangipahoa, Hancock , Harrison and Jackson.

A cold front will continue to move through Louisiana with strong winds and freezing temperatures.

Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 20s and lower 30s for up to 12 hours.
