BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Someone is walking around with an extra $10,000 and may not even know it.
The Louisiana Lottery said that is the amount of a cash prize from a Powerball ticket that has not yet been claimed and will expire soon.
The winning ticket is from the Oct. 8, 2014 drawing. It will expire on April 6. Lottery officials reported it was purchased at the Albertson's on Perkins Road.
"We look forward to the winner coming forward to claim this prize," said Lottery President Rose Hudson. "In the meantime, the individual should treat the ticket as cash. It is also a good idea to sign the back of the ticket for security purposes."
The winning ticket matched four of the numbers drawn and the Powerball. The numbers were 5-16-31-46-50 and the Powerball was 18.
