BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Metro Airport reported a jet that was stuck in the mud has been removed, allowing a closed runway to reopen and commercial flights are operating.
The runway reopened around 1 a.m. Travelers are urged to check with their airline for the status of specific flights.
According to officials, Runway 13/31 was shut down after a twin-engine corporate jet had hydraulic failure and ended up losing its breaks while taxiing before takeoff.
Airport spokesman Jim Caldwell said the jet ran off the runway and ended up in the mud.
The incident caused a few delays and some flights were diverted to other airports.
