HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - Detectives said a third man was arrested Monday in connection with a shooting that left a teen dead nearly a year ago.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office reported Akeem Banks, 24, of Hammond, was booked on a charge of principal to first-degree murder in the shooting death of Hector Dotey, 16, also of Hammond, after turning himself in to authorities.
The shooting happened on May 20, 2014. Investigators said Dotey was found dead in his bedroom. He had been shot in the head.
Deputies reported based on witness statements, they believe the shooting may have been retaliation from a fight that happened earlier that day.
Damone Stanley, 24, and Erin Stanley, 25, were taken into custody Thursday in the murder. They are both charged with first-degree murder.
The investigation is ongoing.
