BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - February was a good month for crime stats in Baton Rouge.
For the entire 28-day period, there were no murders in the Capital City.
District Attorney Hillar Moore told the Baton Rouge Business Report, this is the first time he can remember the city being murder-free for a month. He added those stats represent a significant step in reducing violent crime.
Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie credited the murder-free month to the public's input and assistance with law enforcement.
While there were no murders in February, there was an accidental deadly shooting which has now been ruled negligent homicide.
