BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Some familiar faces took a dip in chilly waters in honor of the eight annual Polar Plunge on Saturday.
The chilly attraction took place at the Cabela's in Gonzales to raise money for Special Olympics programs.
Representatives from local businesses, area law enforcement as well as WAFB staff members took the plunge.
Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie says that the event has increased in size every year. "We're slowly gaining a lot of support from the community," says Dabadie, "as of this year we've set both attendance records and hopefully fundraising records."
This year's Polar Plunge raised over $68,000 for Special Olympics programs.
