BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Businesses that partner with the Red Cross to keep it going were celebrated at a leadership breakfast Thursday morning.
The Red Cross steps in to help people in the community in times of need.
However, the organization would not be able to provide food, lodging, supplies and comfort to families during emergencies if it were not for the network of volunteers and donors.
"It's really neat to see a group of employees come together from a place like BASF or Exxon to go door-to-door in the community and save lives," said Nancy Malone, Red Cross public affairs director.
The companies she mentioned are just a few of the members of the 365 Giving Program. Members invest money in the Red Cross to help keep lifesaving services available.
